When I set my goals for 2016, I knew they would be a challenge. This was done on purpose! If a goal was too easy to obtain then maybe it would be as rewarding once it is accomplished.
Looking at my mileage for the year, I have logged 399 miles. At this point in time, I am supposed to have at least 420 miles. I should be averaging about 5.5 miles every day. This puts me about 21 miles behind my goal. I did not effectively count for taper and recovery weeks.
Upon setting this goal, I knew I would have the challenge of my MBA program and work requirements. While this mileage could be achieved by a couple of crazy long runs, I am not ready to jeopardize my body to an injury over a couple of miles. I this point I am going to keep to my goal of 2,016 miles. Looking at my calendar, I have a race a month (sometimes more) for the rest of the year.
No matter how small or large the roadblock, I plan to stick to the path until the end of the journey.
