Two Months Out

The summer’s heat and humidity is taking a toll on my marathon training this year.  I was hoping that starting from the beginning this year would enable to me blast through my 20 plus mile training run.  Well, they are not at easy as I had anticipated.  Starting early beats the heat, but the full force of the morning’s humidity is less than welcome.  I am two months out from the my first Marine Corp Marathon, so I must press forward with a smile.  This may not be my best race in recent memory, but I will put forth my best effort.  The plan is to come back home with the Champ (see photo).  The training plan for this race has me running about 30 – 40 miles per week.  Which will lead into my first 50 miler – JFK50.  The plan is to keep up as many miles as possible until the the heat starts to subside which will hopefully pull the humidity down too.
